A lot of folks ask whether we’ll buy the trees in their yard. Here’s the honest answer: we generally don’t pay for yard or lawn trees. Open-grown trees are lower grade, and they often hide old nails, fence wire and other metal that can ruin a sawmill’s blades.
The one exception is black walnut.
A good walnut can be valuable enough — especially veneer-grade — to be worth harvesting even in a yard
